Day 1 : NJP or BAGDOGRA - GANGTOK
Approx. 4 hrs. drive
On arrival at the NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra airport you will drive to Gangtok. The picturesque road journey runs parallel to the turquoise blue Teesta River. On arrival check into hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2 : GANGTOK
Today embark on an excursion to Tsongo Lake (12,400ft.) through the Kyongnosal Alpine Sanctuary. This holy lake is near the Chinese border and is frozen for 4 months in winter. A 40kms winding road takes you to this high altitude alpine region in 1 ½ hrs. Then proceed to Nathula Pass on the Indo-China border and peep into China. Packed lunch will be served on this excursion. Overnight at hotel.

OPTION - Helicopter ride towards Mt. Kanchendzonga subject to flight availability. You have the option of enjoying a Chopper ride around Mt. Kanchendzonga and back in an hour. This trip is done early in the morning before the trip to Tsongo Lake at an extra cost.

Day 3 : GANGTOK - LACHUNG
Approx. 6hrs drive/ 125kms
After breakfast depart for the wilderness of North Sikkim. The fascinating jeep safari takes you across numerous bridges over fast flowing streams and cascading waterfalls. The terrain ranges from the frightening to the fascinating. Overnight stay at Lachung.

Day 4 : LACHUNG - YUMTHANG VALLEY - LACHUNG
Today embark on an excursion to Yumthang Valley (12,000ft). Photographs of the nature scenes of Switzerland and Yumthang valley look so similar that it is difficult to distinguish between them. The 1-½ hour journey from Lachung to Yumthang is one of the favourite Himalayan journeys with amazing variety of flora and landscape - an unending visual treat. You may also take a dip in the hot spring in the valley. In summer, yaks graze in the valley. In winter the numbing cold dips below zero. Overnight stay at Lachung.

Day 5 : LACHUNG - GANGTOK
After breakfast visit the Lachung Monastery. Later drive back to Gangtok. Lunch en route. On the way, clean weather permitting, you get to see the mighty Kanchendzonga range from Singhik. On arrival at Gangtok check into hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 6 : CAMP ON THE TEESTA
In the morning you will drive down to the campsite on the Teesta River. Volleyball / rugby follows. Nature lovers may like to go for a short hike. In the evening there will be campfire with singing and dancing. Overnight in tents.

Day 7 : RAFTING ON THE TEESTA - PEMAYANGTSE
After breakfast you will enjoy rafting for about 3hrs on the river. Later proceed to Pemayangtse and check into hotel. In the afternoon visit the town center to explore the quaint bazaar. Overnight at hotel.

Day 8 : PEMAYANGTSE
Today you will embark on a full day excursion to Khecheopari Lake and Yuksom. Khecheopalri Lake is one of the sacred Buddhist Mountain Lakes. It is believed that whatever is wished in front of the lake comes true. A further drive takes you to Yuksom, the erstwhile capital of Sikkim. This was the place where the first Chogyal (a ruling dynasty in Sikkim) was crowned. You can still see the Norbugang (stone throne) where he was crowned. Also visit the Dubdi Monastery (The Hermit Cell), the oldest monastery in Sikkim built in 1700. Overnight at hotel.

Day 9 : PEMAYANGTSE - NJP or BAGDOGRA
After breakfast today you are transferred to NJP or Bagdogra to board your train or flight for onward journey.
